The Hidden Behind My Fantasy

I began working on my final piece of art around the end of March 2025 in order to graduate. My goal for the finished piece of art was to employ the fantasy figure to create an interactive display using the four documents that describe my perception of the dark spiritual. My favorite artists, such as Remedios Varo and one of Francisco Goya's black paintings, served as inspiration for this twisted visual form. Apart from that, I represented myself and raised awareness about the realm of "Sihir," or black magic, in Malay culture through the documentation and interactive medium.

Initially, while I'm making this project, there were a lot of discovery that I met such as making 'kelir' or shadow puppet's screen using only picture frame, the used of effect night lamp to create a transcendence effect inspired by the artist like Mariko Mori's video installation, DaVinci Resolves video editing to replace the CapCut and others so on. Meanwhile, I going to be honest it was difficult to understand especially I'm a fine art student at the Degree level in University. Like understanding how to add the ideas, content and context inside the art especially when here comes citation and artist references. For sure, I didn't just copying from the previous artist, only getting inspired and knowing how to use the technique and how they adding their opinion or philosophy into their work. I'm honestly a slow learner but despite all of that, I'm grateful for at least I still can handle the situation.

Overall, from the begining till the end, I manage to complete the interactive display before I'm moving to the performance documentation and sound effect. Hope you could enjoy and stay tuned for more update about the outcome of my final work.
